Fourteen-year-old Gretel had lived in Panama all her life. While the statistics say 85% of the people in Panama follow the Roman Catholic tradition, Gretel had never in her life heard the story of Jesus. She did not know He was the Son of God, or how his death had made a way for us to find new life in Christ.

The first time she ever heard His story or thought about Him seriously was when she was sitting on the front row of The GodMan film screening with her friends. What she saw was enchanting! She loved the character of Jesus on the screen, His teachings, His gentle manner, and His strong integrity.

But then when He was arrested, beaten, and crucified, Gretel was horrified! She had to cover here eyes as tears streamed down her face; she did not even want to watch. When she saw the movie's depiction of Easter morning, her heart was filled with joy!

Afterward, she prayed along with several other children and teenagers, to receive Christ as Savior. She was also given the Book of Hope which would tell her more about Jesus, and help her continue to grow in Him.
